USCIS announced that as of December 2, 2019, it is increasing the Premium Processing fee to $1440 from the current fee of $1410. USCIS said that the $30 fee increase is due to inflation based on the Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers. Premium Processing was last increased in October 2018.
Premium Processing is an optional request for faster processing of certain employment-based petitions. At this time, premium processing is available for most classifications of temporary workers using Form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker (including H-1B, E-1, E-2, L-1A, L-1B, and O and P classifications) and permanent resident workers using Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker (including EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3 classifications). After paying the Premium Processing Fee and filing Form I-907, USCIS guarantees to complete processing of the petition within 15 calendar days. A request for Premium Processing may be made at the time of the initial filing or at any time while the petition is pending.
All requests for Premium Processing received by USCIS on December 2, 2019 or after will need to include the new fee of $1440.
